Professional Therapy With A Personal Touch

Making a decision to find someone to support you on your journey can be a difficult step to take, let’s start that journey together.

With so many questions to answer, it can feel a little intimidating. How do you know you're going to find the right fit for you? Are there questions you'd like answered but you don't know how to phrase them?

Before we start our journey, one of the most important steps is ensuring that you feel comfortable, and getting answers to the questions you may have. If this feels like the right step to take, we can arrange an initial consultation free of charge and talk through your options together.

With a decade of experience in personal counselling and therapy across a number of specialisations, it's important to me that you feel safe and able to build trust in our relationship to the point where you can fully share your story and work through each step of your journey towards recovery, knowing you aren't alone. My aim is to help you return to a life that allows you to make the best of who you are and the opportunities available to you.

While you're reflecting on things, allow me to give you a little more information about me and the type of therapy I work with, before we take the next step.

I am a Person-Centred Counsellor and registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). I have substantial experience of working with adults through a range of issues, particularly around domestic and sexual abuse and bereavement. I have previously worked for several years at The Blue Door / Rape Crisis alongside work for a local hospice.

My work is at a pace that suits you, offering both short term and long-term therapy depending upon your needs. It's important that you remain in control of how your therapy progresses, I like to think that you are in the driving seat throughout our time together. I can offer a safe environment for us to explore whatever you may wish to bring to each session, with empathy.

We can work together to build a trusting and therapeutic relationship, without judgement, which enables you to explore your thoughts and feelings and come to a better understanding and management of them.

We all have the ability to grow with the right tools to create that growth and understanding. My job is to help you to make sense of your feelings and move forward in your life with a better understanding of who you are.

“Michelle supported me after the death of my husband, helping me to make sense of my overwhelming grief, and giving me a safe place to talk about my feelings. I would not hesitate to recommend Michelle.”
